Nola Rose Jewelry

Growing up in New Orleans, I spent many Saturday afternoons window-shopping in the French Quarter and on Canal Street drawn to those exquisite estate pieces. I relish the idea of using beads hidden away in an attic or updating jewelry previously worn. I wonder who the owner was, under what circumstances they acquired the piece, and what led to its relinquishment.

I began beading several years ago upon the invitation of a friend and have not stopped since. I enjoy searching through antique and thrift stores for unique beads, clasps and findings. My philosophy is "keep it simple." When re-designing jewelry, I always try to retain the integrity of the piece and its time period, while making it fresh.

My business grew out of my commitment and absolute joy in beading. I chose the name Nola for New Orleans, Louisiana, the place of my birth, and Rose for my grandmother, whose passion for growing roses, I now understand.
